BAAU is attending AX2009 with 2 tables at the Artist Alley.

AX2009 sign up sheet:
Table 1:
Hojo
WenM
Alfred Twu

Table 2:
Sephodwyrm
Perkelate

Will be populated as time goes by.

OK people, if you want to attend AX as a subsidiary artist / HELPER at my table you will provide me in any format (email, PM on BAAU etc):

1. Your name
2. Your website
3. Your email

Do so ASAP. Because I am content on hogging an entire table to myself. I will also share if people want to, but I can't share if I already submitted the paper to the ORGANIZATION.

Please reply to me within the week.

Yeah. Same here. It would probably be my last convention in the US.

The originator, to be there
Any other random BAAU member who wants to go

But I'd only want to attend as a participant in the artist alley...do we have a table?

If we get a table I will make an effort to go. I won't be able to attend SDCC so AX is a must for me.

Looks like there's enough interest to get a baau table. Go ahead and book one, I'll reimburse you for it at Fanime.

New Artist Alley Packet is up for AnimeExpo. Things have changed quite a bit and rules gotten stricter. For example, no more "grey market" items like buttons and keychains. How many tables do we need for BAAU? Just 1? I will try and contact Jen about setting up something for BAAU because I'm also trying to get a friend in (the same one for Fanime). Hopefully she'll let us book multiple tables as a group again. I just need to know how many tables to ask for... Right now I'm guessing 2 tables

1/2 Alfred/BAAU
1/2 Sephodwyrm
1 Hojo

Is anybody else planning on attending???

I would consider that to be a smart item...that requires the use of gray matter...

A gray market item is a bootleg. Its something that is otherwise commercially available (or similar in nature). This is the reason they are cracking down on buttons and keychains which simply depict fanart. Original characters are okay on these items however. Similarly they also list use of trademarked/copyrighted logos and insignias as serious nonos.

In laymans terms you can sell fanart if its a poster, doujinshi, or original art (meaning the actual paper you drew on). There are a few others but that's the dummy's guide answer.

I received a response from Jen regarding our registration. Unfortunately due to the new automated system and the handling of the registration an individual can only register for a single table. That means for every table we want to have at AX we need another person registering for it. I will talk with Alfred about this more as the deadline closes in. We just need to mention that each registered table is with BAAU so that the seating chart is handled appropriately.

Sup guys.

I am registering for AX2009 and here are the fields in the form to be filled in:

- Items Sold
Posters, original artwork, local artists' comic anthology
- Maximum of 3 secondary artists and/or helpers
- Blank for now
- Group URL and / or a group statement of purpose
- Bay Area Artist Unite - a team of local artist with great aspirations
- Project Circle infomration
- BAAU Down is an annual comic anthology with contributions from comic artists in the Bay Area, California as well as outside contributors
- website

So, since I'm allowed to put 3 names, who wanna table for / with BAAU?

P.S. I have to apply for a CA seller's permit. T__T
