Can't say much about what is or isn't art or what is "best", but my favorite art is something insightful and original, something thought-provoking or that makes me see things in a novel way.
Can't remember a lot either, but I remember this piece by Félix González-Torres:

It is literally a pile of candy in a corner of a museum that viewers are invited to eat. The museum replenishes them regularly. Its meaning is open to interpretation, but I liked how it's the simplest idea yet virtually immortal and irreproducible at the same time. |
